By turing ADJUSTMENT BOLT one-quarter turn in either direction spring tension on clip is completely released permitting quick, eaasy removal of sickle bar for repair or replacement without removing hold down clips, etc. from cutter bar. Stern clips maintain constant down pressure on the sickle sections resulting in a close tolerance between sections and ledger plates of guards for better, smoother cutting action - reducing the necessity of sharpening sickle bar sections by one-half or more.
NYLATRON WEAR STRIPS can be removed and replaced without removing the hold down clips from the cutter bar. Replace the entire set of wear strips in minutes - on the job - no special tools needed - no time loss: using only a pen knife and a 1/2 inch wrench.
By turing the ADJUSTMENT BOLT one-half turn CLOCKWISE the down pressure or spring tension on the sickle sections is DECREASED. Conversely, by turning the ADJUSTMENT BOLT one-half turn COUNTERCLOCKWISE spring tension is INCREASED. Any desired spring tension is quickly achieved.
